The cash for clunkers cars deal has been a recent craze for people around the US taking advantage of the government’s $3500 – $4500 tax credit. By trading in any old vehicle that qualifies under theĀ  cash for clunkers program terms you can qualify for the credit which is to be used to purchase any new fuel efficient vehicle.

Cash for clunkers has been so popular that the original $1 billion set aside for the program is already nearly gone. As a result another $2 billion in emergency funds is being voted on by the Senate this week to be released. An extra $2 billion will keep the momentum going and the spending up for new fuel efficient vehicles. (UPDATE: $2 Billion was approved).
