Top 10 Yahoo Searches For 2008, The Economy
Yahoo has released their infamous Top 10 Searches for 2008 which includes a breakdown of not only the top 10 Yahoo searches but other categories as well. Surprisingly enough Britney Spears and WWE had more searches than Barack Obama.
The two top 10 search categories we took special interest in were Politicians and the Economy. The top 10 searches that were made on Yahoo related to the Economy were:
- IRS Stimulus Checks
- Oil Prices
- Gold Prices
- Gas Prices
- Dow Jones
- Sallie Mae
- Stock market
- AIG
- Foreclosures
- Debt Consolidation
- Stock Trading To Go*
While many economists argue the $80 Billion stimulus package this year did little good since more than 50% of the funds were used to pay down debt, it’s good to see that atleast it took a #1 award for search queries. As far as commodities taking three of the top four spots no investor should be surprised.
