InformedTrades.com Site Review

InformedTrades.com contacted me recently for a full site review. Run by David Waring and his team the site filters the web every day to find the best articles and videos to help people trade. Their goal is to simply help investors learn and grow which is essential for the current bear market.

David Waring is the Community host and InformedTrades icon. Each day David posts a market summary which can be found on the homepage, and is also responsible for most of the education videos on the site.

InformedTrades University

One of main areas of the site is the InformedTrades University which is large collection of investment education videos. Targeted for new investors video topics include fundamental and technical analysis, the general stock market, trading basics, and even forex.

The average video is a few minutes in length and main topics break down into modules which include 5 - 10 videos each. David and his team took their time putting the collection together as it includes easily 1,000+ minutes of video.

The Community

The site is centered around the InformedTrades forum which is the main community hub that contains over 135,000 posts from 3,300+ members. There is a forum for new investors to ask questions and for general market discussion the Trader’s Discussion forum is the place to be.

I asked who their target audience was and the response was well written,

“Consistent with our mission statement, our target audience is simply anyone who wishes to learn to trade. This includes novices just getting into the market, as well as experienced traders looking for quality news, conversations, reference materials, and information for ongoing education.”

Our Thoughts

Overall David and his team have done a nice job putting the site together and look to have a well established community.

One thought for the team would be to burn a feed for their daily market summary posts. If they can’t burn a feed then perhaps creating a blog is the way to go (I suggest WordPress). Having an RSS feed would allow the brand to greatly expand into other avenues alongside giving all readers an easier way to stay updated with the latest content.

David and his team focus on lead generation for the majority of their income, but one idea I would suggest is branching out. By creating an advertising page to sell banner space directly or even trying out Google adsense InformedTrades.com can possibly generate more income across a diversified channel.

Overall with Community and education as the focus InformedTrades should only continue to grow with time. They have a dedicated staff that keeps the forum spam free, a fantastic investment university, and a free community that continues to add new members each day. Hey Blain - cool site and a good resource. Right now with the market doing nada, it’s a good place to kill time and learn about new strategies. I’ll be spending some time there for sure.

Nice review, ya if they can burn a feed for the homepage that would be pretty sweet, link fests are always nice.

The University is a good time spender, some of the videos are definitely better than others though.
