Coal Stock Trend Returns Over 100% Since April
Since the most recent breakouts for Coal specific stocks returns have been as high as 165%. The latest breakouts for coal stocks came between April 2nd and April 4th, and only the sky has been the limit since.
Below you can see stock charts of James River Coal (JRCC), Alpha Natural Resources (ANR), Massey Energy (MEE), and Fording Inc (FDG). Three out of four of these stocks have posted returns of over 100% in the last 2.5 months. The average return for all four stocks is 112.5%.
Coal is a great example of how powerful playing the trends can really be. As a momentum trader finding companies like this are huge for success. For those who follow this blog ANR returned 7% in one day and JRCC returned 11% in one day.

After watching coal today I would be very careful as most of these stocks look like they are having climax runs. To open up and now be down on high volume is not a bullish sign short term. Even a one week rest could do wonders for the group as a whole.
