6 Hot Financial Stocks Ready to Yield Big Profits

Blain Reinkensmeyer

After watching Mastercards (MA) earnings report last Thursday send the stock shooting past $200 a share, I couldn’t help but admire the beauty of its stock chart. I then went searching through 61 stocks in the same industry group to compile a great list of six companies worthy of your portfolio.

Featured in below are charts of Mastercard (MA),Cybersource (CYBS), Nasdaq Stock Market (NDAQ), M S C I (MXB), Western Union Co (WU), and Metavante (MV). All Stocks are trading above their 50 day moving averages, and have been under recent accumulation from institutional investors. All prices are as of the market close today, February 4th, 2008.

Mastercard (MA), $216

I think Mastercard is a winner in this price range. $200 and the uptrending 50 MA are your key support levels. This stock is a buy now and on any weakness. 5 – 8% stops sufficient.

Cybersource (CYBS), $16.63

I like this stock at $16, possibly a great buy with a pullback. Otherwise should be a good momentum mover with a heavy volume break above $17.

Nasdaq Stock Market (NDAQ), $45.67

What a roller coaster for this stock with the drop from $45 to $35 and back up again. Let the stock base out some and I would consider NDAQ as a buy with a break above $47.

M S C I (MXB), $33.48

Low volume sell off today and a steep bullish trendline has this stock either set to continue to move higher or settle into a base. Be careful with new issues, also be cautious of the lower average daily volume.

Western Union Co (WU), $22.59

Not much to say about WU. Strong institutional support seen last Thursday. See WU hold its 50 MA and higher prices should follow.

Metavante (MV), $24.01

Heavy accumulation recently for this new issues. I would consider buying on any weakness.

  1. Pretty good list. I especially like MA and WU out of this group, since both of them seem like companies that will grow pretty well despite the environment.
