I wanted to let new investors know what exactly are pre-market trading hours and when do they run.
The stock market regularly opens at 9:30 AM EST each week day less holidays. When the market is officially open that is when you see all of the regular stock trading occurring. Any market order is only good during these official market hours.
Pre-market trading is officially from 8:00 AM EST - 9:30 AM EST. These pre-market hours are hours that come before the stock market officially opens. Aslo known as extended trading sessions, investors are allowed to trade using only stock limit orders.
