Server Change Success Yields Big Speed Boost
For those who don’t know the stocktradingtogo.com site has been moved from GoDaddy’s shared hosting to a Virtual Private Server (VPS) at a different provider.
The site is now running noticeably faster and I am very much pleased. The last phase to all of this recent madness if moving the stock forum from falkininvesting.com/forum to stocktradingtogo.com/forum and onto the new server. Depending on my sanity this could be accomplished tomorrow.
If you have any questions or find any site glitches please let me know.

Congrats on the move. I started out being hosted on Yahoo (their service is got to be the worst available) and eventually moved on to BlueHost, but the transition was plagued with issues thanks to Yahoo. So it’s good to see atleast you got through it smoothly.
A VPS is a massive step up from shared hosting… especially if the shared hosting was provided by GoDaddy. Who is your new host?
The only slowdown I’ve seen are with comments and posting them. We’ll see what kind of improvement when I hit the add comment button…
Testing the comment theory here. site loads fast now though!
It’s much more responsive now. Changes look go so far!
Blain, which VPS company did you decide to go with?
I’ve heard good things about Media Temples hosting.. and had bad experiences with GoDaddy. Yuck.
After much debate and research I ended up going with knownhost. They specialize in VPS.
