Last month Mikel won the September top commentator contest with 53 comments, who will claim the crown in October?

Our sponsor this month is Covestor.com (read my full review), the Community with proven self investors. The prize package this month is valued at just over $120.

Top Commentator Prize

If you are the top commentator for the month of October, you will take home a free site review of your website, a 512 MB Corsair flashdrive, and new this month you will also win a one month text link for your site on both Stock Trading To Go and Stock Charts To Go for the month of November.

Amazon Gift Certificate Drawing For All

Another new prize this month (thanks Covestor for donating), anyone on the top commentator list – which can be found on the sidebar to your right – will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $20 Amazon.com gift certificate. There are 8 people displayed at any given time, so be one of the top 8 commentators in October and you are eligible for the gift certificate.

On top of all of this, I mention the top commentators once a week, so if you are on the top commentator list this month you will earn up to 4 free backlinks into your site. Not a bad deal for sharing your thoughts huh?

How to Be a Top Commentator

To be a top commentator you need to leave well thought out comments with any posts here on Stock Trading To Go. To leave a comment view any post at its permalink url, then scroll to the bottom of the post to leave a comment.

Good luck

  1. Those are really great prizes. Good job getting Covestor has sponsors.

  2. Cool prizes! A site review is always a great prize on a blog with your fan base. Definately a traffic boost.

  3. Quite the philantropist you’re becoming. lol

Also good job with covestor.com giving you some freebies. I’m going to try getting sponsorship for my site too (in the future when I have more articles and readers).

  4. oh the competition mounts! Now we are talking, not only a reason to comment, but a real chance draw as well. woo hoo!

  5. I’d definitelly like that review, even if I had to pay for it :-) Other prices are also cool, and I might consider donating as well.

  6. I really don’t care for the prizes. All I’m interested in is the site review. I desperately need critiquing

  7. lol well that’ll keep ya motivated

Just so you know I do do private reviews for half the price (so $25). They are the exact same just that instead of them being publicly posted they are sent over via email. This may be a great way to get some feedback.

  8. No I wasn’t aware of that. Regardless, I have to decline that offer. I want to see how far I can go with my blog by spending only 8 dollars per month (my domain hosting fee) and not a cent more.

  9. These commentator competitions are a great traffic incentive. Blain, how effective have you found these competitions for increasing traffic?

  10. To be honest I am not really sure. I don’t think they increase traffic as much as they increase community activity (no brainer there). If anything they increase page impressions slightly (probably nothing noticeable) but that would be it.

The whole value in the contest is in the readers hands, I really just think commenting is a great resemblance of an active alive blog, so to me that is worth investing in.

  11. Blain, I think you reach another level of evilness in the blogosphere
While John Chow is at 10 out of 10, you probably climbed up to 3 with all your contest!

  12. Agreed. What an evil plan to boost your comments. I’m sold!

  13. Some good prizes this month Blain. Your marketing efforts are interesting and fun to watch.

  14. Looks like you have upped the ante some for the commentator contest this month. The covestor sponsorship is a very nice deal. It’s nice that you have built such an active community through this.
