NASDAQ Contest Final Results, $150 Cash Prize?!

Posted by Blain Reinkensmeyer on Monday April 30, 2007

38 contestants came together last week across multiple finance blogs for a stock contest with a $100 cash prize at stake. To claim the prize contestants had to simply guess one week in advance what the NASDAQ composite index would close at, to the penny! And, with last Friday the 23rd of April being the last day of this 4th bi-weekly contest, a winner has been found. But was the $100 cash prize claimed? Read on to find out…

Bull Trader Takes 1st

congrats.gifCongratulations to The Bull Trader who has set a new record for our bi-weekly contests here at ST101!! His guess of 2556.91 a full week in advance was off the close by only .30 cents! This beats out our last record by Brandon of being off by only .94. Bull Trader will go down in the hall of fame and be forever featured on the sidebar here on the blog.

Also congratulations to the community of Clever Dude who amongst all guesses had a mean difference of only 24.56 off Friday’s close. This beats MDJ’s mean of 41.18 and our community mean here on ST101 of 45.92.

$150 Cash Prize?

So what about the $100 cash prize? Well, since Bull Trader was not exact to the penny, this cash goes unclaimed. BUT, what fun would it be to not include it in the next contest? To turn things up a notch, I will be carrying 50% of the $100 over to next round which will launch at the end of this upcoming week. This means that there will be $150 CASH ($100 + $50) to anyone who can guess the NASDAQ close to the penny next time around!

The longer this cash prize goes unclaimed, the bigger the pot will continue to grow! The next contest will open to you this upcoming Friday, May the 2nd! So, subscribe to the feed to keep up to date for your chance to win $150 cash!

(You can view other contests and giveaways in the archives of this blog. Participation is completely free and open to everyone. Subscribe to the feed for your chance to win)
