S&P 500 Stock Market Leaders
There were some good movement on the down and upside within the S&P 500 today, some of the best stock movers today traded up as much as 5%:
- Walgreen (WAG) closed today at $42.65, a change of $2.05 or 5.05%. Volume on the stock was 6,774,700.
- Bausch & Lomb (BOL) closed today at $51.32, a change of $2.02 or 4.10%. Volume on the stock was 2,645,900.
- Tellabs (TLAB) closed today at $15.59, a change of $.56 or 3.73%. The third best performer on the day traded over 7 million shares by the close.
The S & P 500 ended up basically even on the day, closing just .2% higher. Out of the 500 companies representing the index, 255 closed up, 236 closed down, and 9 were unchanged on the day today. The stock market has been pretty interesting to watch as of late and has had some extra volatility. Keep a close eye on the markets next week and your charts as investors have their way, expect the unexpected always.
