Today the stock market has a rough day, and most stocks felt a downward pull than an upward jump. Industry Group wise only two groups had overall gains (%) wise over 1%:
- Oil&Gas-Transport/Pipeline closed up 2.3% on the day as oil closed above $72. There are 42 companies that trade in this industry group.
- Oil&Gas-Cdn Expl&Prod closed up 1.7% on the day. This also ties in with the fact that oil was on the rise today. There are 74 stocks in this industry group.
On the other hand, the downside saw quite a few groups fall over 1%. In fact, I can’t list them all here, but some of the biggest losses were amounted in the following: Steel-Specialty Alloys fell 5.9%, Internet-Isp fell 5.5%, Steel-Producers fell 4.6%, and Textile-Mill/Household fell 4%. Steel has been a top player in the stock market for a while now, but we will see what investors have to say about that over the next few weeks.
